We follow a simple schedule of silent meditation followed by dharma discussion. I am a priest in the tradition of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, and try to lead by following his example. This group is for anyone who would like to learn about Buddhist teachings and practices with the intention to develop greater happiness, peacefulness, inner strength and resiliency. Each Sunday morning there will be a period of meditation, a teaching and time for discussion and questions, followed by a potluck lunch for those who wish to stay. Topics will focus on bringing greater happiness into our lives through practical application of the Buddha's teachings.
This group is designed for people interested in the intersection of mindfulness, meditation and 12 step recovery. Anyone involved in any type of 12 step recovery is invited. We sit for 30 minutes, introduce ourselves, take a short break, then reassemble and offer a reading, then open the meeting to shares. We meet promptly at 7 pm and end at 8:30 pm every 3rd Friday of the month and are donation based.
